Asking Turkeys to Vote for Christmas

Last week, I gave a shortened speech in the Dáil on the Electoral (Amendment) (Dáil Constituencies) Bill 2012. This week, I got the chance to finish it. This bill that proposes to reduce the number of TDs by eight, could and should go further to radically improve Dáil performance. We need to have an open honest discussion about who we elect and how many legislators we need. Yes, this may entail a referendum if we want to change the number of TDs. I would propose we radically reduce the number of TDs, to 100 or less.
