He ran for office in 2011, in response to Ireland’s growing economic and social crises. At the time he was working as a management consultant for McKinsey & Co., specialising in transformational change for large public and private sector organisations. Stephen has worked across many sectors, including private equity, retail, public infrastructure, healthcare, education, international development, the voluntary and social sectors. At the Harvard Kennedy School he studied international development, with a focus on rebuilding economies and protecting and strengthening vulnerable populations.
Stephen believes in equality of opportunity, a strong economy, high quality and efficient public services, support for vulnerable individuals and groups and an accountable, responsive local and national political system. He lives in Greystones with his wife and three young boys.
